Scansonic does not reach randomly into the Lego box. Every component of the M30.2 is intelligently chosen—naturally in line with its affordable price. But the Danes’ true skill lies in their company know-how and two distinctive traits. Passive radiators on the rear are almost a unique hallmark. Added to this is the elegant, finely resolved ribbon tweeter for the highs. Together, these elements create a sense of playfulness, musicality, and a rarely encountered coherence in the soundstage.

At the end, one impression remains that is hard to shake off: the ScansonicHD Q3 convey a clear sense of how music should sound in a room. Outstanding design paired with equally outstanding sonic refinement – that is the Scansonic MB6 B. Loudspeakers that set an aesthetic highlight are rare. Loudspeakers that set a sonic highlight are also not an everyday occurrence. That both qualities are embodied in one model is therefore an absolute stroke of luck. For the best possible listening experience, you need a sonically capable – though not necessarily high-powered – amplifier. The Scansonic team deserves respect, because successfully uniting art and acoustics in such a magnificent way in a loudspeaker is an extremely rare achievement.

The M30.2 brilliantly confirms what Scansonic stands for: the flagship of the new M series delivers top performance at an excellent price. This is made possible by the outstanding magnetostatic tweeter, as well as the newly developed drivers for mids and bass, which now operate in a three-way configuration and, in the low frequencies, work with passive radiators instead of bass reflex tuning. As a result, the M30.2 offers an exceptionally open, airy, and spacious reproduction with great transparency and clarity. The presentation has very good three-dimensionality and plasticity. Voices and individual instruments, in particular, appear extremely present and immediate. In terms of dynamics, the M30.2 impresses with excellent impulse fidelity and a high degree of gradation. This leads, especially with percussion, to outstanding attack, percussive punch, and an overall vibrant freshness in the music. In the bass, the M30.2 delivers a deep-reaching, voluminous yet well-contoured foundation, ensuring a very tidy presentation with outstanding clarity. In this way, the fresh flagship shines with sonic class.

The Scansonic M15.2 is a 1500 Euro bookshelf (standmount) speaker that has a 6.5inch mid woofer and a ribbon tweeter. Bass is aided not by a port but by a passive bass radiator mounted on the back. Their unusual shape is a case of form following function, and it will be a talking point. Sonically, these are a detailed and thoroughly enjoyable speaker to listen to, though some may find the ribbon tweeter a little too revealing if they are coming from more traditional dome tweeters. Overall, their presentation is akin to a good near to mid-field monitor. If you are in the market for a speaker in this price range, then you should audition over as long a period as you can.

The way these speakers get to the heart of the music is unique, especially in this price segment. Vocals and vocals are taken to a higher level with these Q10s and with this, some studio recordings even come across to me as live recordings. I have not often experienced this. The energy and micro-information these Q10s manage to extract from albums make these Scansonic Q10 models one of the best-performing hi-fi speakers of 2024 for me. Five out of five stars.”

Those who always admired the Raidho range of loudspeakers – and who doesn’t, but can´t justify price tags from the lower five-figure range upwards, or need just a little more in terms of bandwidth and dynamic range than the smallest Raidho standmounts in their ´entry-level´ range (still well into five figures), should check out Scansonic´s Q range PDQ. Never has there more Raidho DNA in Scansonic than with the Q3 (as well as the larger Q8 and Q10) and it shows in its awesome resolution, microdynamics and precision that is somewhat miraculously melded with a big soundstage and pleasant, easy-going tonal balance. If you want to hear everything in the music, but without the feeling that music is surgically being taken apart – and the rest of your system is up to scratch (but not necessarily at the stratospheric level some of the Raidhos would need to give their best), these might be the ones.

In terms of detail, the Dali speakers also have a thinner midrange and a slightly sharper treble. This makes them more discerning when it comes to recording quality; on sharp recordings, they can be a little hard to listen to.”
